The story

The 19th-century face of Dallas County — the city before glass towers.

The 1892 Romanesque Revival courthouse of red sandstone — Old Red — anchored Dallas County government for decades and later housed the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture. The exterior is the postcard: turrets, arches, and deep Texas red against the modern skyline, steps from Dealey Plaza and the Kennedy Memorial.
